Top 12 Zoo Name Ideas From Real Founders

These names were generated on the LOGO.com name generator and chosen by real founders naming zoos, petting zoos, safari parks, primate parks and aquariums. Zoo searches make up a small pool on our generator, so every pick counts. The twelve are ranked by how often they were picked this past year, and only the first two were picked more than once, so treat the order as a shortlist, not a leaderboard.

What makes these 12 zoo name ideas work for businesses

All twelve were generated on LOGO.com and chosen by real founders. Below is what each one does well, and the pattern behind it that you can reuse for your own zoo.

Zoo Zone

No name was picked more often from zoo searches on LOGO.com this past year, a small field of about 70 different people. It came from a founder who typed nothing but the word zoo, and it answers with a name a child can shout from the back seat. Steal the recipe: say zoo out loud, then add one short word that starts with the same sound.

Blossom Barn

A founder planning a petting zoo with a flower shop picked this name more than once. Blossom appears in 122 business names created on LOGO.com, usually on florists, which is exactly why it feels fresh on a petting zoo. Steal the recipe: pair the second thing you sell with the building your animals live in, and let the matching first letters carry it.

Ape Acres

This one came from a founder describing a primate zoo that teaches people about the animals. Acres turns up in fewer than 40 business names on LOGO.com, and it promises room to roam, something every visitor wants to see for great apes. Steal the recipe: name your star animal, then add a word that says there is space.

Savanna Sanctuary

A founder asking for a zoo with exotic animals chose this name. Savanna shows up in only about two dozen business names on LOGO.com, so the whole grassland image is still largely unclaimed, and Sanctuary tells visitors the animals come first. Steal the recipe: name a landscape, then add a word that sounds like care.

The Grazing Grounds

This name came from a founder planning a petting zoo with a vegetarian cafe, and it works for both halves of the business. Grazing appears in fewer than ten business names created on LOGO.com, which is remarkable for a word that describes half the animals in any petting zoo. Steal the recipe: describe what your animals spend the day doing, then name the place they do it.

Arctic Apex

A founder who asked for an animal zoo picked this cold weather name. Arctic turns up in more than 30 business names on LOGO.com, and polar animals give a zoo an instantly recognizable signature exhibit. Steal the recipe: pick the climate your best exhibit comes from and add one strong word about height or the top.

Wild Vista

Wild appears in more than 450 business names created on LOGO.com this past year, so it needs a partner that does real work. Vista does, promising open views and big spaces, and it came from a founder who typed only the word zoo. Steal the recipe: keep wild if you love it, and pair it with a word about what visitors will see.

Safari Sanctuary

Sanctuary is in nearly 60 business names on LOGO.com, a word that signals protection rather than display. A founder asking for zoo names chose this one, and the pairing promises big animals and a caring home in the same breath. Steal the recipe: put the adventure word first and the caring word second.

Primate Perspectives

Primate appears in only a handful of business names created on LOGO.com this past year, a remarkably quiet word for a group of animals people love to watch. This name came from the same primate zoo prompt as Ape Acres, and Perspectives hints at learning. Steal the recipe: use the scientific group name for an educational zoo and pair it with a word about seeing or learning.

Wild Trace

A founder describing a safari park picked this name. Business names on LOGO.com use the singular safari roughly twice as often as the plural, and Wild Trace skips the word altogether, suggesting tracks in the dust instead. Steal the recipe: name the sign an animal leaves behind, a trace, a track, a trail, and let visitors fill in the rest.

Marine Mania Park

This name came from a founder planning an aquarium themed water park. Marine turns up in more than 140 business names created on LOGO.com, and Mania adds the energy families want from a full day out. Steal the recipe: name your habitat, add one lively word, and finish with the kind of place it is.

Zoo Fableton

Only three logos on LOGO.com this past year carried the single word ZOO, because one word alone is almost impossible to own. This founder, who typed just Zoo, chose an invented town name that sounds like the start of a story. Steal the recipe: keep zoo, then invent a place name only your zoo can claim.

Look closely and a pattern jumps out: a landscape, an animal or a feeling, plus one short word about space, care or movement. Try that formula with your own animals in the zoo name generator.

The Top 9 Words Founders Use In Zoo Names

Animal

Animal appears in 22 zoo name searches on LOGO.com, about one in five of them and more than any other word here. These nine are the words founders most often put next to zoo when they search our generator, and because one search can hold several of them, the counts overlap.

Petting

Petting shows up in 16 zoo searches on LOGO.com. The small, hands on zoo is a bigger slice of zoo naming than the big city zoo, so a soft, friendly name is often the right call.

Park

Park turns up in 14 zoo searches on the platform. Adding park tells people there is room to walk, which suits wildlife parks and drive through safaris.

Theme

Theme appears in 11 zoo searches on LOGO.com, nearly always as a theme park with animals. If rides are part of the plan, make sure the name still says animals first.

Farm

Farm shows up in 8 zoo searches on LOGO.com, from farm parks to petting farms. A farm zoo name can borrow barns, hay and pasture without sounding like a working farm.

Exotic

Exotic appears in 7 zoo searches on our generator. It is a descriptor, not a name, so let the species or the landscape do that job instead.

Cafe

Cafe matches exotic in zoo searches on LOGO.com, from petting zoos with a coffee bar to a zoo with a capybara cafe. If food is half the business, pick a name that works on a menu too.

Reptile

Reptile turns up in 5 zoo searches on LOGO.com, mostly for reptile and amphibian zoos built around education. Scales, shells and warm rocks all make good material.

Safari

Safari appears in 4 zoo searches on LOGO.com. It sets up big animals and open land, so save it for a zoo that really has the space.

Don't get stuck with a forgettable zoo name

Your name ends up on the entrance arch, the tickets, the park map, the gift shop plush tags, the school trip forms and every family photo taken at the gate. Make sure it passes these five tests.

  1. Easy to Say

Parents will say it to kids, teachers will say it to a class, and kids will shout it from the back seat. If a six year old can say it right the first time, you are close.

  2. Easy to Remember

Families decide on a day out in minutes. One clear image, an animal, a landscape or a feeling, is what they remember when they plan the weekend.

  3. Easy to Search

Most people will look you up as your name plus zoo, or your name plus your town. Keep the spelling plain and skip clever misspellings that send visitors to someone else.

  4. Easy to Own

Before the arch goes up, confirm the domain, the social handles, your maps listing and the trademark register are all clear. Repainting signs, maps and a fleet of strollers costs real money.

  5. Easy to Grow

Leave room for the park you will have in five years. A name tied to one animal gets tight the day you add an aviary, a reptile house or a farm area.

500+ Zoo Name Ideas by Zoo Type

According to LOGO.com data, zoo was chosen as a business industry 475 times this past year, by 390 different people, counting only the exact label zoo and none of the zoology courses, Zoom apps or bazooka brands that share its letters. The lists below follow the animal attractions founders actually describe, from classic zoos, petting zoos and safari parks to aquariums, sanctuaries, reptile houses and aviaries, so find your format first and borrow the patterns that fit.

Classic zoo names

Business names created on LOGO.com use safari more than three times for every two that use zoo as a word, so the plain word zoo is less crowded than it looks. Classic zoo names say zoo with confidence, then borrow a hill, a river or a grove so the place feels rooted in its town.

Mobile petting zoo and animal show names

Children's zoo and family zoo names

LOGO.com data shows kids came up in only two zoo searches in the past 12 months, even though families are the core audience for most small zoos. Names for a children's zoo should be easy for a five year old to say and fun for a parent to put on a birthday invite.

Safari park names

Industry labels mentioning safari were picked more than 120 times on LOGO.com in the past 12 months, most of them by tour operators rather than parks. A safari park name should promise open land and big animals seen from the car window, whether the land is in Kenya or Kentucky.

Aquarium and marine park names

Aquarium alone was the industry label behind 455 selections on LOGO.com in the last 12 months, a mix of public aquariums and fish shops. That overlap is the reason a public aquarium name should sound like a place to spend the afternoon, not a place to buy a filter.

  • Marine Mania Park

Reptile zoo names

Reptile shows up in industry labels on the platform mostly as a shop, with reptile store making up about two in three of the reptile labels chosen on LOGO.com. A reptile zoo name should sound like an adventure you walk through, not a counter where you buy crickets.

Bird park and aviary names

Zoo exhibit and themed zone names

How to name a zoo, from the first animal to the entrance gate

A zoo name has to work on an entrance arch, a ticket, a park map and a plush toy tag, and it has to work for a toddler and a grandparent at the same time. Across the past 12 months, founders picked 91,666 names on LOGO.com, and about 100 of the searches behind those picks were for a zoo. Those searches, and the names that came out of them, point to a few clear lessons.

Start with your animals and your land, not with wild and safari

Wild, safari and kingdom are the first words most people reach for, which is why they are already painted on so many gates. A better starting point is a list of three things only you can claim: the animal visitors will come to see first, the landscape or climate your park is built around, and the promise you make to the animals themselves, whether that is play, care or conservation. Build from that list and the name will sound like your park instead of every park. Planning rides as well as animals? Our theme park names page fits better. Running a pet shop or grooming business instead? Browse pet business names.

Three name styles founders keep picking

The names founders chose on LOGO.com fall into three families. Place names borrow a landscape or a climate, like Savanna Sanctuary, Arctic Apex and Wild Vista. Animal names put the star species up front, like Ape Acres and Primate Perspectives. Friendly names lead with a feeling or a sound, like Zoo Zone, Blossom Barn and Zoo Fableton. The zoo name generator can serve all three. The style that struggles is the long descriptive name that lists every animal and fits on no sign.

Say it, shrink it, search it

Read the name aloud to a child and ask them to repeat it back. Shrink it down to a stroller tag or a ticket stub and check it still reads. Then type it into a search bar next to your town and look at who already owns the first page. If visitors will also pick eggs or pumpkins, farm names are worth a browse, if you run safari trips abroad, travel agency names fit better, and for a nonprofit sanctuary or rescue, try charity names.

Secure the name before the arch goes up

When a name passes the child test, lock it in. Grab the domain and the social handles, claim your maps and ticketing listings, and run a trademark search, all before signs, maps or uniforms get printed. Then turn it into a brand: design the mark with our logo maker, write an entrance line with the slogan generator, and if a cafe, a gift shop or a second site is on the horizon, find an umbrella name with the business name generator.

Methodology. Figures come from LOGO.com product data for the 12 months to 25 September 2026, covering 391,061 name searches on the generator. Industry figures count how often a label was chosen as a business industry, and zoo figures use the exact label zoo, leaving out zoology, Zoom and other words that only contain the letters. Word figures in names count how many business names created on LOGO.com contain each word, cleaned of longer words that contain it, such as pandan for panda and zoom for zoo. The Top 9 words count how many zoo name searches contain each word, and because one search can contain several of them, the counts overlap and are shown as a ranked list. Founder picks are the names chosen from zoo searches in the generator, plus two from safari and aquarium searches, which is a small pool, so the Top 12 is a shortlist rather than a league table. "LOGO.com is an amazing resource. It helped me create a professional-looking logo for my business that received more praise than logos I've paid designers to create for me in the past. The site is very easy to use, walks you through every step, and gives you control over the entire creation process."
