What makes these 12 crochet business name ideas work for businesses

A crochet business name has to work in three places most trades never think about. It sits on an Etsy listing next to a thousand competitors, it gets written on a care label the size of a stamp, and it has to be readable on a market stall banner from across a hall. Here is what each of these twelve does, and how to borrow the move without borrowing the name.

Crochet Creations

The most selected crochet name on LOGO.com by a wide margin, picked eight times when no other name in the category was picked more than three. It is plain and it is descriptive, and that is exactly why it wins. Steal the recipe: name the craft, say that you make things, and let the products do the rest of the talking.

Crochet Cove

Cove suggests a small sheltered place you have to seek out, which suits a maker doing limited runs far better than a word like warehouse or world. It also sounds calm, which matters in a craft people buy for comfort. Steal the recipe: pair the craft word with a place word that implies smallness.

Crochet Canvas

Canvas reframes crochet as an art form rather than a hobby, and it quietly justifies a higher price without anybody having to argue for it. Steal the recipe: borrow a word from a craft the market already treats as art.

Crochet Cottontails

Three hard C sounds in a row make it stick in the ear, and cottontails tells a shopper immediately that there are bunnies in the shop. Steal the recipe: alliterate first, then name the thing you actually make most of.

Woven Warmth Blankets

It names the material behaviour, the benefit and the product in three words, which is rarer than it sounds. Warmth is the actual reason anybody buys a blanket, and putting it in the middle of the name is what makes this one work. Steal the recipe: put the benefit between the texture and the product.

Hook & Thread

The tool and the material, and nothing else. It is the crochet equivalent of naming a kitchen shop Salt and Pepper, and it will still make sense in twenty years when the current style has moved on. Steal the recipe: name the two things sitting on the table in front of you.

Artful Yarn

Yarn takes about 10% of the nine most paired words in crochet name searches on LOGO.com, which makes it familiar but not distinctive on its own. Artful does the lifting that yarn cannot. Steal the recipe: take the plainest material word and put a quality word in front of it.

DreamStitch Crochet

Closing the gap between dream and stitch makes a brandable first half, and crochet on the end keeps the whole thing findable. It is the belt and braces approach, and it is underrated. Steal the recipe: invent a compound, then bolt the plain trade word on so people can still search for you.

Hooked Haven

Hooked is the best pun available in this craft, because it is a technique and a real feeling at the same time. Haven turns the shop into somewhere to be rather than somewhere to buy from. Steal the recipe: find the word that is both a technique and an emotion.

Crafty Corner

Crafty is doing double duty here, meaning skilled and meaning sly, and that small ambiguity is exactly what gives the name a personality. Corner is the smallest place word available, and it does for a maker what boutique does for a shop, promising something little and personal rather than mass produced. Steal the recipe: pick a word about your skill that also carries a wink, then anchor it to the smallest place you can name.

Petal & Knot

Knot is the least paired of the nine most used words in crochet name searches on our generator, which quietly makes it the most available. Petal softens it into something giftable. Steal the recipe: pick the underused word on purpose and warm it up with the second one.

Knotty & Nice

A pun that is cheeky without being rude, and one that works twice as hard every December. The risk with a joke name is that it wears out, and this one survives because the joke is in the spelling rather than the delivery. Steal the recipe: if the pun still makes you smile on the tenth reading, it will survive the shop banner.

Every one of these came out of the same place, which is a short description of a real maker typed into the crochet business name generator. Describe yours and see what comes back.

The Top 9 Words Founders Use In Crochet Business Names

Handmade

About 45% of the nine word mentions, and the runaway leader. It is the promise every crochet buyer is actually paying for, which is also exactly why it is the hardest word in the category to own on its own.

Knit

About 13%, despite being a different craft entirely. Founders reach for it because customers use knit as a catch all, so a knit name widens your audience and irritates purists in equal measure.

Plush

About 10%, and almost all of it from amigurumi makers. It says soft toy without saying toy, which keeps the door open for adult collectors who spend far more than parents do.

Yarn

About 10%, and the most flexible word of the nine. It works for a maker, a shop and a teacher without changing meaning, which is why it survives a change of business model.

Cozy

About 6%. It is a feeling rather than a thing, and it sells blankets and scarves beautifully while doing almost nothing for a keychain or a bag.

Stitch

Sixth of the nine, just ahead of hook. It is the smallest unit of the craft and the easiest to pair with anything, which is why it turns up in so many two word names.

Hook

Seventh of the nine, and the only tool word to make the list. It separates crochet from knitting instantly, which is useful if you are tired of being asked which one you do.

Amigurumi

Eighth of the nine and by far the most specific word here. It filters your audience hard, which is exactly right if plush toys are the whole business and wrong if they are a sideline.

Knot

The least paired of the nine, which quietly makes it the most available word in the category. It also carries a warmth that stitch and hook do not, and it puns well.

Don't get stuck with a forgettable crochet business name

Your business name goes on an Etsy shop, a care label the size of a stamp, a market stall banner, a parcel sticker and an Instagram bio. It also gets typed into a search bar by somebody hunting for a baby gift at eleven at night. Five things to check before you commit.

  1. Easy to Say

Most crochet businesses grow by word of mouth at markets and inside maker groups. If somebody has to spell it out for a friend, the recommendation dies on the way there.

  2. Easy to Remember

A buyer who finds you at a craft fair will come looking three weeks later with nothing but a memory of your stall. Two short words beat a sentence every single time.

  3. Easy to Search

Watch how generic the craft words are. Handmade is the single most paired word in crochet name searches on LOGO.com, taking about 45% of the top nine word mentions, so a name built on it alone puts you behind a very long queue of listings.

  4. Easy to Own

Check the Etsy shop name, the domain, the social handles and your national trademark register. Etsy names are first come first served and they go quickly in this category, so claim it before you order labels.

  5. Easy to Grow

Makers who start with amigurumi add blankets, and makers who start with blankets add patterns and classes. Naming yourself after one product is the fastest way to outgrow your own stall banner.

500+ Crochet Business Name Ideas by What You Make

According to LOGO.com data, crochet was chosen as a business industry more than 2,900 times between August 2025 and August 2026, with handmade crafts chosen more than 5,500 times on top of that. Founders ran just over 1,500 crochet name searches on our generator in the same window. The list below is split by what you actually make, because an amigurumi maker and a blanket business want very different names.

Etsy and Online Crochet Shop Names

Handmade is the word founders pair with crochet more than any other on LOGO.com, taking about 45% of the top nine word mentions. That makes it clear and enormously crowded, so an online shop name needs something beside it that nobody else has.

Pet Crochet Names

Amigurumi ranks eighth of the nine most paired words in crochet name searches on our generator, and it is the most specific word in the set. Pet names work the same way, so say cat or dog if you mean it, because vagueness costs you the search.

Luxury and Heirloom Crochet Names

Yarn takes about 10% of the nine word mentions on LOGO.com and reads as material rather than craft, which is why heirloom makers reach for it. A luxury name should sound like something inherited, not something bought.

Playful and Punny Crochet Names

How to name a crochet business, from the first hook to the first market stall

Founders ran 384,603 name searches on LOGO.com in the past year and picked 87,853 names from what came back. Crochet alone was chosen as a business industry more than 2,900 times, with handmade crafts above 5,500 on top of that. Here is what the founders who got it right did differently.

Start from what you make, not from the craft

Everybody in this category crochets, so crochet is not the differentiator. The makers with the best names started from the product. Bunnies for new babies, chunky blankets for cold houses, bucket hats for festivals, patterns for people who want to learn. Write one sentence describing what you make and who buys it, then name that sentence. If your name would sit equally well on a plush octopus and a wedding shawl, it is not doing enough.

The three name styles that actually work

The first is the craft word plus a second word, which is how Crochet Cove and Crochet Canvas work, and it is the most searchable style there is. The second is the tool and material pairing, like Hook and Thread, which sounds like a shop rather than a hobby. The third is the pun, which this craft supports better than almost any other because hooked, knotty and yarn all mean two things at once. All three turn up in the names founders actually pick on LOGO.com, and the pun is the riskiest, because it has to still be funny on a care label in three years.

Test it on a label and a stall banner

Write the name at the size of a care label, then again at the size of a banner. Crochet businesses live at both extremes and almost nowhere in between. Then say it out loud to somebody at a market stall level of noise. If they ask you to repeat it, the name is costing you sales at every fair you do. Check how it looks as an Etsy shop name too, since that string is often the first thing a buyer ever reads about you.

Lock it down, in the right order

The Etsy shop name first, because it is first come first served and it goes fastest in this category. Then the domain, then the social handles, then your national trademark register. Descriptive craft names are hard to protect, so check properly before you order a thousand labels. Once all four clear, the logo maker and the slogan generator will finish the set, and the business name generator covers you if the shop grows past yarn.

Methodology. Figures in this article come from LOGO.com first party product data for the twelve months from August 2025 to August 2026, a window covering 384,603 name searches and 87,853 name selections. Industry figures count how many times a term was chosen as a business industry, which counts events rather than unique people. Word shares are each word's share of the nine most used words founders paired with crochet in name searches, from a base of 456 mentions. Wordmark counts are the number of logos created containing that word. Source: LOGO.com first party product data, August 2026.

"After forming an LLC, I didn't know where to go to create a logo and assets for my website. Then I found LOGO.com. They created a selection of logos for me to choose from in all the sizes I needed. In addition, LOGO.com provided me with a set of branding materials for my website and social media presence. The process is easy, fast, and requires no processional design experience."

"I have never attempted developing a logo or other marketing products, and am no expert at navigating new computer software. That being said, I not only found the software easy to navigate and learn, but the end product was more than I had hoped for. The help team at logo.com was highly responsive and willing to help with any questions I had in a clear and rapid manner. I am very pleased with the team at logo.com and the products I created. I highly recommend their service!"

"LOGO.com is an amazing resource. It helped me create a professional-looking logo for my business that received more praise than logos I've paid designers to create for me in the past. The site is very easy to use, walks you through every step, and gives you control over the entire creation process."
