What makes these 12 catering name ideas work for businesses

Every name below was generated on LOGO.com and picked by a real founder. Here is why each one earns its keep, and the pattern you can steal for your own kitchen.

Plate Perfection

Alliterative, and it promises the one thing a client actually worries about, which is whether the food will look right when it lands in front of a hundred people. Dish appears in 252 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year once radish is stripped out. Steal the recipe: name the moment your client is nervous about and you have answered the objection before they call.

Hearthstone Catering

Hearth turns up in only 57 business names founders created on LOGO.com over the past year, which makes it one of the rarest warmth words available. Stone gives it weight, so the whole thing sounds established rather than new. Steal the recipe: an old fashioned word for the place food is cooked is worth more than any adjective about taste.

Crescent City Catering

A place nickname plus the trade, which tells a client both where you are and what you cook without a word of menu copy. Pantry appears in just 55 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year, and this whole register of homely nouns is similarly underused. Steal the recipe: if your city has a nickname, it is the cheapest distinctive word you will ever find.

Sister's Catering Co

It says two people who know each other, which is exactly the reassurance a bride wants at nine in the morning on the day. Chef turns up in 260 business names founders created on LOGO.com over the past year, and a family word does the same job with more warmth. Steal the recipe: a relationship word tells a client who will actually turn up, and nobody else can register your family.

Flavorful Feasts

Two words, both about abundance, and the double F makes it stick in the ear. Savory appears in only 41 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year, so the taste register as a whole is far less crowded than founders assume. Steal the recipe: pick a word about how much food there will be, because that is the anxiety catering clients never say out loud.

Faithful Feast

Faithful is doing two jobs, meaning reliable and meaning devout, and both suit a caterer who works church halls, funerals and christenings as well as weddings. Steal the recipe: a word with two honest readings lets one name serve two very different client lists.

Supreme Suppers

Supper is a warmer word than dinner and a smaller one than banquet, which places this business precisely. Spoon appears in 85 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year, and utensil words like it are the quiet workhorses of food branding. Steal the recipe: choose the meal word that matches the size of event you want, because the name will filter your enquiries for you.

Artful Appetites

It sells presentation rather than portion size, which is the right promise for canapes and grazing tables. Fork turns up in 95 business names founders created on LOGO.com over the past year. Steal the recipe: if your work photographs well, put an art word in the name and let the pictures do the selling.

Gather & Go

Two verbs and an ampersand, which is about as fast as a name can be. Meal prep was chosen as a business industry only 74 times on LOGO.com this past year, so the whole drop off and grab category is barely claimed. Steal the recipe: if you deliver rather than serve, say the delivery in the name and you will stop fielding calls about waiting staff.

Savor Station

Station is a working word from inside a kitchen, and using it out loud signals that you have actually run a service. Steal the recipe: borrow a word from your own back of house vocabulary, because it sounds authentic to clients and correct to the staff you want to hire.

Elegant Eats

A high word and a low word in the same breath, which stops the name from sounding stuffy while still setting a price. Platter appears in only 13 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year, so the whole serving ware register is almost unclaimed. Steal the recipe: pair a formal adjective with a casual noun and you get a name that works for a gala and a garden party.

Gourmet Grid

Grid is an odd, modern word next to gourmet, and the oddness is what makes it memorable in an inbox full of Elegant Somethings. Steal the recipe: if your category is full of soft words, one hard word in the name will do more for recall than a better adjective.

Twelve names will never cover every kind of kitchen. Put your own menu, your city or a word you like into the catering name generator above and you will have twenty more in a few seconds, each with a live domain check and a free logo preview.

The Top 9 Words Founders Use In Catering Names

Business

Business is the word founders reach for most, appearing in 82 of the 367 catering name searches on LOGO.com this past year, about 22 percent. That says a lot of people arrive here before they have decided what the catering business actually is. These nine counts overlap, because one search can carry several of the words.

Service

60 mentions, about 16 percent of catering name searches. Service is the honest description of what you sell, because a client is buying staff and timing as much as food.

Food

49 mentions. The plainest word available and the one most likely to collide locally, so it works better as the second half of a name than the first.

Company

43 mentions. Company signals a team and a schedule rather than one cook, which matters when a venue asks for your insurance certificate.

Event

30 mentions. Event widens you past food into the whole occasion, which is useful if you want to sell staff, hire and styling alongside the menu.

Home

14 mentions. Home reads warm and small on purpose, and it is the right word if you cook from a domestic kitchen and want clients to know it.

Wedding

9 mentions, which is fewer than one in forty catering name searches. That is the most surprising number in this data set, because weddings are what most people picture when they hear the word caterer.

Party

9 mentions, level with wedding. Party is the friendlier of the two and it does not lock you into one kind of booking.

Small

8 mentions. Founders describing themselves as small is a naming instinct worth resisting, because a name that says small today is awkward the year you hire three people.

Don't get stuck with a forgettable catering name

Your name goes on a quote, a van, a chafing dish, a venue preferred supplier list and the mouth of a bride telling her friend who fed everyone. Make sure it checks these boxes.

  1. Easy to Say

Catering is a referral trade. If a guest cannot repeat your name to the host at the end of the night, that recommendation arrives as a description instead of a booking.

  2. Easy to Remember

A venue supplier list gives you one line among twenty. Short, concrete words survive that. Clever spellings get typed wrong into a search bar and vanish.

  3. Easy to Search

Clients find you on the wedding directories, on Maps and on social before they email. Avoid a name shared with a restaurant in the same county, because you will spend years being sent the wrong reviews.

  4. Easy to Own

Check the domain, the handles, your state registry, your food hygiene registration and the trademark register before you print menus. Our generator shows domain availability on every name it serves.

  5. Easy to Grow

A name built around weddings alone gets awkward the day you win a corporate contract. Pick something that survives a funeral, a festival and a Friday office lunch.

500+ Catering Business Name Ideas by Event Type and Service Style

According to LOGO.com data, catering was chosen as a business industry 11,888 times this past year, which makes it one of the larger food categories on the platform and far bigger than the number of founders who search for a catering name outright. The lists below are grouped by the events you want to feed and the way you want to serve them, so find your main kind of booking first and borrow the patterns that fit.

Catering company names

Catering was picked as an exact industry match 8,423 times on LOGO.com this past year, which is founders typing the trade and nothing else. A straight catering company name is the safest choice on this page, and the word you put in front of it is where you make it yours.

BBQ and grill catering names

Mobile and drop off catering names

Family and heritage catering names

What makes LOGO.com the best Catering Business Name Generator

Built from real data

Every suggestion is shaped by the words founders actually chose for catering and event businesses on LOGO.com this past year.

Made for catering businesses

Tell it you do weddings from a rented kitchen or office lunches from a van and it names that, not a generic small business.

A fit score on every name

A quick score shows how well each name matches the business you described, so you can skim instead of agonize.

Every name explains itself

Each option comes with a line on why it works, which is what you need when you try three of them out loud on a venue manager.

A tagline with every name

Every name arrives with a short line underneath it, ready for your quote header and the side of your van.

Style tags at a glance

Names are tagged rustic, elegant, corporate or homely, so you can see instantly whether one matches the bookings you want.

20 names per round

One sentence about your business gives you twenty options, enough to spot a direction without staring at a blank page.

More like this

Found one that nearly works? Ask for more in the same direction and the generator narrows in instead of starting over.

Favorites that follow you

Star the names you like and they stay in your list while you keep generating, so nothing good gets lost between rounds.

Compare mode

Put your shortlist side by side and read the names the way a couple comparing three quotes will.

Live domain availability

Every name is checked against real domains as it appears, so you never fall for one you cannot book.

Domain prices upfront

You see what the domain costs before you get attached to the name, not three screens later.

Instant logo previews

Each name comes with a logo already drawn, so you can tell in a second whether it works on a menu card.

See it on a website

Preview the name on a real homepage layout, enquiry form and all, before you commit to it.

See it on a business card

Venue coordinators still collect cards at open days, so check how the name sits on one before you print a hundred.

See it on social

See the name as a profile and a post, which matters here because a grazing table photograph is your best salesperson.

Four naming styles

Switch between descriptive, invented, compound and evocative names depending on whether you want clarity or character.

A length slider

Slide from one short word to a full catering company name and watch the suggestions change shape as you go.

An abstractness slider

Choose how literal you want to be, from Riverside Wedding Catering at one end to something like Forkful at the other.

A tone slider

Move between friendly and formal until the names sound like the person who will actually run your service.

Category control

Point it at weddings, corporate lunches, barbecue, grazing tables or private chef work and the whole set of names moves with you.

Free to use

Generate as many rounds of catering names as you like without paying and without creating an account first.

A free logo included

Pick a name and the matching logo is yours, ready for your menus, your aprons and your van.

The whole brand in one place

Name, logo, domain and brand kit all come out of the same tool, so your first quote looks like it came from a real company.

How to name a catering business, from your first booking to your first van

A catering name has to survive a quote, a venue supplier list and a guest asking the host who did the food. Founders ran 378,877 business name searches on our generator this past year and selected 86,264 of the names it served, and 367 of those searches named catering outright. Here is what all that naming activity teaches about naming a kitchen of your own.

Start from the booking, not the thesaurus

Write down the booking you want on repeat before you write a single name. A hundred head wedding is a different business to a weekly office drop off, and a private chef doing dinner for eight is a third one again. The safest starting point is whichever booking pays the rent this year, with a second word wide enough to carry whatever you add next, because almost every caterer ends up doing a funeral and a birthday in the same week.

Do not name yourself into one event

This is the naming trap specific to catering, and the data makes it plain. Weddings are what everybody pictures when they hear the word caterer, and yet wedding is one of the least used words founders put into their catering name searches on our generator, well behind business, service and food. Founders instinctively leave the room open. Follow that instinct, because a name with the word wedding in it makes a corporate buyer scroll past you, and corporate work is what pays in January.

Test it in the wild before you commit

Say it down a phone to somebody who has never heard it and see whether they spell it back correctly. Print it on a menu card and read it from across a table. Search it on the wedding directories and on Maps, and see who else is on the same venue supplier lists. If it survives all three, it will survive a van wrap.

Lock it down, then build the brand around it

Check the domain first, because it is the fastest proof a name is genuinely ownable, and our business name generator shows availability live on every option it serves. Then clear your state business registry, your food hygiene registration, the federal trademark database and the handles on the platforms your clients use, which in this trade means the visual ones. When the name clears, register the domain, claim the handles, and put the logo maker to work on your menus, your aprons and your van. If you want a line for the website header, the slogan generator is free too.

Methodology: data in this article comes from anonymized, aggregated LOGO.com product usage between 6 September 2025 and 6 September 2026. Catering figures use the full word catering rather than the fragment cater, although the two barely differ on this platform, because caterpillar accounts for only eight matches across the entire year. Word counts are the number of name searches containing catering that also contain each word, and those counts overlap, because one search can contain several of the words at once. Two percentages are quoted on this page, both against the measured base of 367 catering name searches. Wordmark figures count business names created on the platform, and the figure for dish is stated after removing radish. Industry figures count industry selections, which are events rather than unique people. The founder pick list is not ranked, because no name in the twelve was chosen more than twice. Icon preference was measured and then dropped, because 216 icon changes came from only 28 distinct people, which is a handful of indecisive founders rather than a preference. "LOGO.com is an amazing resource. It helped me create a professional-looking logo for my business that received more praise than logos I've paid designers to create for me in the past. The site is very easy to use, walks you through every step, and gives you control over the entire creation process."
