What makes these 12 vintage name ideas work for a shop

Every name below was generated on LOGO.com and picked by a real founder. Here is why each one earns its keep, and the pattern you can steal for your own shop.

Vintage Vibes

The category word plus a feeling, which is exactly how this trade actually sells. Vintage appears in 258 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year, so the word is well used and the second half is what makes a name yours. Steal the recipe: nobody walks into a vintage shop for an object, they walk in for an afternoon.

Timeless Treasures

Alliteration doing the memory work, with two words that both promise the item will outlast the buyer. Treasure sits in 208 business names created on LOGO.com, more than any era word manages. Steal the recipe: a promise about lasting value beats a reference to a decade that half your customers were not alive for.

Violet Vintage

A color and the category word, alliterating, which is the most repeated shape in this whole trade. Vintage does the explaining and Violet does the remembering, and a color is a word no competitor down the road can take off you. Steal the recipe: if you want the category word in the name, put something in front of it that could only be yours.

Vintage Vault

Vault carries scarcity, and scarcity is the whole pitch in resale. It shows up in 438 business names created on LOGO.com once default is stripped out, which makes it one of the busier storage words. Steal the recipe: a word that implies limited stock gives customers a reason to come back this week rather than next month.

Thrift Haven

Thrift is the plainest word in this trade and haven softens it into somewhere you would want to spend an hour. Between them they name a price and a mood, which is all a shopper needs in order to decide whether to come in. Steal the recipe: pair the blunt trade word with a warm one and you get clarity without sounding cheap.

Savvy Seconds

Alliteration plus the honest word for the stock, and it flatters the shopper rather than the shop. Second sits in 266 business names created on LOGO.com once secondary is removed. Steal the recipe: praise your customer's judgment and the same rail suddenly carries a higher price.

Old Soul Finds

Finds is the word this trade uses in real life, and it turns up in 337 business names created on LOGO.com once findings is stripped out. Old Soul describes the shopper rather than the stock. Steal the recipe: naming your customer instead of your product is the fastest way to sound like a community rather than a shop.

The Reclaimed Closet

Closet appears in 319 business names created on LOGO.com and it is the most domestic word in this trade, which suits a shop built on wardrobes people cleared out. Reclaimed adds the environmental argument without a lecture. Steal the recipe: the word The, used deliberately, makes a small shop sound like a destination.

Retro Relics

Two collector words, both alliterative, both a little tongue in cheek. Relic appears in just 21 business names created on LOGO.com, so it is almost entirely unclaimed. Steal the recipe: a rare word paired with a familiar one is easier to register and still easy to say.

Nostalgia Nook

Nostalgia names the emotion directly, which almost no founder dares do, and it appears in only 31 business names created on LOGO.com. Nook makes the shop sound small on purpose. Steal the recipe: if your shop really is one room, say so, because small reads as curated rather than limited.

Retro Threads

Threads narrows the shop to clothing without using the word clothing, and it appears in 287 business names created on LOGO.com. Retro tells a shopper roughly which decades to expect. Steal the recipe: an insider word for your product filters out browsers and pulls in the people who already know what they want.

Echo Emporium

Emporium is a grand old retail word that has almost fallen out of use, sitting in exactly 100 business names created on LOGO.com. Echo keeps it playful rather than pompous. Steal the recipe: reviving a dated shop word is on brand in a trade that sells dated things.

Twelve names will never cover every kind of shop. Put your own stock, your city or a word you like into the vintage name generator above and you will have twenty more in a few seconds, each with a live domain check and a free logo preview.

The Top 9 Words Founders Use In Vintage Shop Names

Clothing

Clothing leads, appearing in 144 of the 811 vintage retail name searches we counted, close to one in five. These nine counts overlap, because one search can carry several of the words at once.

Store

124 mentions. Store is the formal option and it reads as somewhere with fixed hours and a card reader, which matters more than founders expect.

Shop

110 mentions, just behind store. Shop is warmer and smaller, and it suits a single room with a bell on the door.

Online

58 mentions, which is startling for a trade built on browsing. It marks out the resellers who never intend to hold a lease.

Antique

55 mentions. Antique promises age and provenance rather than style, and it changes who walks in more than any other word here.

Items

48 mentions. The most neutral word available, and a sign the founder had not settled on a category yet when they started naming.

Retro

47 mentions. Retro narrows the shop to a few specific decades, and it tends to bring in shoppers who already know exactly which ones they want.

Thrift

35 mentions. Thrift is about price rather than era, so it brings volume and a very different margin.

Clothes

34 mentions, just behind thrift. The plain word tends to show up in searches from founders selling everyday pieces rather than designer rails.

Don't get stuck with a forgettable vintage shop name

Your name goes on the awning, the swing tag, the tissue paper, the market stall banner and the caption under every photo a customer posts. Make sure it checks these boxes.

  1. Easy to Say

A coat somebody found here gets talked about all week, and that conversation is most of your marketing. If the name is a mouthful, the recommendation becomes that place near the bridge, and nobody can search for that place near the bridge.

  2. Easy to Remember

A swing tag is read once and a market banner is read from ten feet away. Short, concrete words survive both. Deliberate misspellings survive neither.

  3. Easy to Search

Half your sales may run through a marketplace listing or a social handle. Avoid a name already worn by a charity shop chain, an etsy seller or a clothing brand, because your listings will end up buried underneath theirs.

  4. Easy to Own

Check the domain, the handles, your state registry, your second hand dealer or resale permit and the trademark register before you order swing tags. Our generator shows domain availability on every name it serves.

  5. Easy to Grow

A name built around one decade or one product gets awkward the day you add furniture, records, a market stall or an online store. Pick something that survives your next van load.

500+ Vintage Shop Name Ideas by Store Type

According to LOGO.com data, vintage was chosen as a business industry 1,646 times this past year, once vintage car businesses are taken out. That figure counts shops selling old things, not businesses borrowing the word as a style. The lists below are grouped by what founders actually sell, so find your stock first and borrow the patterns that fit.

Vintage shop names

Vintage Clothing is a named option founders pick 538 times a year on LOGO.com, which tells you where the center of this trade sits even before you open a rail. Names in this group work hardest when they pair the category word with something nobody else can claim.

Second hand and preloved names

Record and media names

Market stall and flea names

Flea market wording is named in only 76 industry selections on LOGO.com this past year, which understates how many vintage businesses actually start on a folding table. A stall name has to be legible from across a hall and short enough to fit on a banner.

Upcycle and sustainable names

The environmental argument sells this trade to journalists far more than founders lean on it in their own names. Upcycling is named in just 52 industry selections on LOGO.com this past year, the thinnest of the industry counts on this page, which leaves it wide open if that is genuinely your pitch.

Treasure and trove names

Fifteen lists is a lot of reading, and the shop you open next year will probably not be named by any of them on its own. Take the two or three lines that made you stop, feed them back into the vintage shop name generator at the top of this page, and let it build out from there. Check the domain in the same step, because a name you cannot register is a name you will end up changing.

What makes LOGO.com the best Vintage Shop Name Generator

Built from real data

Every suggestion is shaped by the words founders actually chose for vintage, thrift and resale businesses on LOGO.com this past year.

Made for vintage sellers

Tell it you run a curated clothing rail or a market stall of house clearance finds and it names that, not a generic small business.

A fit score on every name

A quick score shows how well each name matches the shop you described, so you can skim instead of agonize.

Every name explains itself

Each option comes with a line on why it works, which is what you need when you try three of them out loud on a regular customer.

A tagline with every name

Every name arrives with a short line underneath it, ready for the swing tag and the banner above your market stall.

Style tags at a glance

Names are tagged plain, premium, playful or modern, so you can see instantly whether one matches the prices you want to charge.

20 names per round

One sentence about your shop gives you twenty options, enough to spot a direction without staring at a blank page.

More like this

Found one that nearly works? Ask for more in the same direction and the generator narrows in instead of starting over.

Favorites that follow you

Star the names you like and they stay in your list while you keep generating, so nothing good gets lost between rounds.

Compare mode

Put your shortlist side by side and read the names the way a shopper scrolling a marketplace will.

Live domain availability

Every name is checked against real domains as it appears, so you never fall for one you cannot book.

Domain prices upfront

You see what the domain costs before you get attached to the name, not three screens later.

Instant logo previews

Each name comes with a logo already drawn, so you can tell in a second whether it works on a paper bag.

See it on a website

Preview the name on a real shop layout, product grid and all, before you commit to it.

See it on a business card

This trade still runs on cards tucked into a paper bag at a market, so check how the name sits on one.

See it on social

See the name as a profile and a post, which matters here because a new drop photographed on a rail is the whole marketing plan.

Four naming styles

Switch between descriptive, invented, compound and evocative names depending on whether you want clarity or character.

A length slider

Slide from one short word to a full shop name and watch how the shortlist changes shape.

An abstractness slider

Move from plain trade words to something invented, and stop wherever the names still sound like a real shop.

A tone slider

Push from thrift plain to gallery premium and back, so the name matches the ticket price on your best piece.

Category control

Ask only for thrift store names, or only for antique names, instead of sifting through a mixed list.

Free to use

Generate as many rounds as you want without paying anything or handing over a card.

A free logo included

Pick a name and you leave with a logo for it, which is the part most sellers in this trade put off until their first market.

The whole brand in one place

Name, logo, domain and website sit in one account, so you can be selling the same week you name the shop.

How to name a vintage shop, from your first market stall to your first lease

A vintage name has to work on a swing tag, on a market banner and in a caption under somebody else's photo of your rail. Most of this trade grows by one person telling another where they found the coat, which means the name has to survive being repeated by somebody who only heard it once. Founders ran 379,526 business name searches on our generator this past year and selected 86,621 of the names it served, and 439 of them went on to pick Antique Store as their industry. Here is what all that naming activity teaches about naming a shop of your own.

Name the stock you will still have in two years

Write down what you actually buy before you write a single name. Curated designer pieces is a different business from a charity rail, and a stall of house clearance furniture is a different business again. The clearest signal in our search data is clothing, which is where most of this trade starts and where most of it stays. If clothes are the plan, say so. If you buy whatever is good, avoid naming a category you will contradict the first time a good sideboard turns up.

Watch what else the word vintage is doing

This is the naming trap unique to this trade, and it is why this page counts exact wording rather than every appearance of a word. Vintage is borrowed constantly by businesses that sell nothing old at all, from wedding photographers to barbers to bakeries reaching for a mood. So a shop called Vintage something sits in a very crowded room, most of which is not competing with you and none of which helps you. Pair it with a word that can only mean used goods, such as resale, thrift, antique, preloved or seconds, and the ambiguity disappears in one step.

Test it in the wild before you commit

Say it to a customer at the till and see whether they can repeat it back a week later. Write it on a paper bag and look at it from arm's length, because that bag walks around town all afternoon. Type it into the marketplace where you already sell and see what else comes up, since your listings will sit next to whatever shares the name. If a name only works written down, it will not work here.

Lock it down, then build the brand around it

Check the domain first, because it is the fastest proof a name is genuinely ownable, and our business name generator shows availability live on every option it serves. Then clear your state business registry, any second hand dealer or resale permit your city requires, the federal trademark database and the handles on the platforms your customers use. When the name clears, register the domain, claim the handles, and put the logo maker to work on your swing tags, your paper bags and your stall banner. If you want a line for the website header, the slogan generator is free too.

Methodology: data in this article comes from anonymized, aggregated LOGO.com product usage between 7 September 2025 and 7 September 2026, covering industry selections, business name searches and finished logo wordmarks. Counts are of exact wording within those fields, so a word that also sits inside a longer unrelated term is measured on its own rather than by every appearance.

"I have never attempted developing a logo or other marketing products, and am no expert at navigating new computer software. That being said, I not only found the software easy to navigate and learn, but the end product was more than I had hoped for. The help team at logo.com was highly responsive and willing to help with any questions I had in a clear and rapid manner. I am very pleased with the team at logo.com and the products I created. I highly recommend their service!"

"LOGO.com is an amazing resource. It helped me create a professional-looking logo for my business that received more praise than logos I've paid designers to create for me in the past. The site is very easy to use, walks you through every step, and gives you control over the entire creation process."
