What makes these 12 perfume name ideas work for a fragrance brand

Every name below was generated on LOGO.com and chosen by a real founder naming a perfume business. Here is why each one carries its weight, and the pattern you can borrow.

Barrow & Finch

Two surnames joined by an ampersand, which is the oldest trick in perfumery and still the most effective, because it implies a house with a history before the house has one. Neither word has anything to do with scent, and that is the point. Borrow the pattern: two plain English surnames, one short and one shorter, joined by an ampersand.

Pure Bliss

Two words that describe the effect rather than the product, and it is the most direct name in this list. It works because a perfume is the only product where the entire purchase is the feeling. Borrow the pattern: an absolute adjective plus the emotion you are actually selling.

Elegance Memoir

An abstract noun plus a word about memory, which is closer to how perfume actually works than any ingredient word could be. Memoir does the heavy lifting because scent and memory are genuinely linked. Borrow the pattern: a quality word plus a word about remembering.

Signature Scents

Alliteration and the single most useful idea in fragrance retail, the signature scent. Scent appears in more than 640 business names founders created on LOGO.com, so the second word is well traveled, and the first word is what makes it work. Borrow the pattern: the word for the thing a customer is looking for plus the plain category word.

Velvet Veil

Two textures, no scent word at all, and it tells you how the perfume sits on skin rather than what is in it. Velvet appears in 314 business names created on the platform, which is common enough to be understood and rare enough to still be pairable. Borrow the pattern: a fabric word plus a word about covering.

Elysian Essence

A word most people cannot quite define plus the plainest possible fragrance word, which is a deliberately unbalanced pairing and it works. Essence appears in 315 business names founders created on LOGO.com, so the second half is familiar ground and the first half is doing all the differentiating. Borrow the pattern: one elevated word nobody uses plus one word everybody knows.

Scentrise

A portmanteau that reads as one word and needs no explanation, which is rare. It also implies a moment of day without naming one. Borrow the pattern: the category word fused to a word about beginning, with the seam hidden.

NebulaScent

The same portmanteau structure with a completely different register, reaching for space rather than daylight. Perfume appears in just 508 business names founders created on our generator while bloom appears in more than 1,000, which tells you founders reach past the product word for atmosphere, and this name reaches further than most. Borrow the pattern: a word from a field nobody associates with perfume plus the category word.

Elixir Emporium

Two deliberately old fashioned words, and it is the only name here that sounds like a shop rather than a brand. That suits it, because a perfume store is a genuinely different business from a perfume brand. Elixir appears in only 54 business names created on the platform, so the word is almost untouched. Borrow the pattern: an archaic word for the product plus an archaic word for the shop.

Indigo Mist

A color plus a form, which sidesteps scent vocabulary entirely and works especially well for body mists and oils. Borrow the pattern: a specific color, not a common one, plus the physical form your product actually takes.

Carbon Bloom

Two words that should not sit together, one industrial and one floral, and the friction is the whole idea. It is the most modern name in the twelve and the least likely to be confused with anything. Borrow the pattern: a hard material word plus a soft growing word, chosen for contrast rather than harmony.

Nova Essence

A word about something new and bright plus the category word, and it is the most straightforwardly commercial name here. It would work on a shelf in any country, which is worth something. Borrow the pattern: a short word with a positive charge in several languages plus the plain fragrance word.

Notice the pattern: only three of these twelve contain a scent word at all, and the strongest ones name a texture, a memory or a contradiction. Once you have a shortlist, run it through the perfume name generator and check the domain before anything goes on a bottle.

The Top 9 Words Founders Use With Perfume

Luxury

The descriptor founders reach for most when they search for a perfume name on LOGO.com, mentioned more than twice as often as the next word on this list. It is also the least differentiating word here, which is the tension every perfume founder has to resolve.

Oil

Second. Perfume oils are a genuinely different product from spray fragrance, sold by the tola or the roller rather than the bottle, and the naming follows: heavier, warmer, less French.

Body

Third, and it travels with oil. Body mists and body sprays are where a lot of new fragrance brands actually start, because the price point lets people try you.

Attar

Fourth, and the first word here that names a tradition rather than a format. Attar naming has its own deep vocabulary of rose, oud, musk, saffron and sandal that almost nobody outside the tradition is competing for.

Custom

Fifth. Bespoke and blend to order perfumery is small in this data but real, and it is the one part of the trade where the customer's own name belongs in the conversation.

Arabic

Sixth. It travels alongside attar and bakhoor, and it points at the single richest untouched word list in fragrance naming.

Natural

Seventh, and level with the three words below it. Natural perfumery names lean on the raw material and the process rather than on the finished scent.

Floral

Seventh, level. The most crowded scent family in the world and the one with the most available names, because founders reach for the flower rather than the feeling.

French

Seventh, level, and the last of the four. Maison and atelier between them appear in more than 800 business names founders created on LOGO.com, so the French house look is popular far beyond perfume.

Choose a perfume name that still works on a bottle in five years

Your name goes on the bottle, the box, the sample vial, the listing title, and the message somebody sends a friend asking what you are wearing. Make sure it checks these boxes.

  1. Easy to Say

Somebody has to be able to answer the question what are you wearing without spelling it. A French name you cannot pronounce costs you the only free marketing perfume has.

  2. Easy to Remember

A person who smelled it on someone else has no packaging to look at. The name has to survive being repeated once, badly, from memory.

  3. Easy to Search

Fragrance is searched constantly and reviewed obsessively, so check that your name is not sitting underneath an established house or a discontinued classic.

  4. Easy to Own

Check the domain, the handles and your local business register before anything is printed on glass. Our generator shows domain availability on every name it suggests.

  5. Easy to Grow Into

Most perfume brands start with one scent and end with a line. A name built around a single note is the hardest thing to extend when the second and third scents arrive.

500+ Perfume Name Ideas by Scent and Style

According to LOGO.com data, perfume was chosen as a business industry more than 13,400 times this past year, and here is the finding that matters most for naming: more than 11,100 of those descriptions, about 83 percent, were simply the word perfume or the phrase perfume store. Almost nobody stakes out a niche in how they describe themselves. Parfum cleared more than 1,600 selections alongside it and fragrance more than 1,200. The lists below are organized by the scent and the style rather than by business type, because the business type data is the flattest in this whole series and the scent is where the naming actually happens.

Luxury perfume brand names

Luxury is the descriptor founders reach for most when they search for a perfume name on LOGO.com, mentioned more than twice as often as the next word, which makes it the most obvious lane and the hardest one to sound distinctive in.

Floral perfume names

Floral is one of four words tied at the bottom of the descriptors founders pair with perfume on our generator, which is a useful signal: the most crowded scent family in the world is one of the least crowded naming spaces, because founders reach for the flower and stop there.

Woody and oud perfume names

Oud is the one word on this page that can never be quoted as a figure, because the raw match is 98 percent loud, cloud and would, so treat the woody family as vocabulary rather than as a measured trend and take the words the trade actually uses.

Fresh and citrus perfume names

Scent appears in more than 640 business names founders created on LOGO.com, well ahead of fragrance at 230, so the plain category words are already busy and a fresh brand is better served by naming the weather than the product.

Perfume store and boutique names

Perfume store is the second most common perfume description on LOGO.com at more than 3,600 selections, second only to the bare word perfume, so a shop is a far more common perfume business than a brand and it needs a different kind of name.

How to name a perfume brand, from your first blend to a full line

A perfume name has to do something no other product name has to do, which is describe something the customer cannot see. It also has to be said out loud by a stranger answering the question what are you wearing. LOGO.com data shows founders ran 388,391 business name searches on our generator in the past year and selected 89,487 names, and perfume was chosen as a business industry more than 13,400 times in the same window. Here is what all that naming activity teaches, and where the data stops being able to help.

Almost nobody stakes out a niche, which is your opening

This is the most useful finding on the page and it took a while to see. More than 11,100 of the 13,400 perfume descriptions on LOGO.com, about 83 percent, are simply the word perfume or the phrase perfume store. Only around fifteen distinct descriptions clear ten selections at all. Compare that with salons, where founders split cleanly into beauty, hair and nail before they type a single name. Perfume founders are not doing that. Whether that is because the category feels self explanatory or because most people are reselling before they blend, the effect is the same: the vocabulary of the trade is largely unclaimed, and a name that says something specific about your scent, your format or your customer will stand alone by default rather than by effort.

The three name patterns perfume brands actually use

First, two surnames joined by an ampersand, the Barrow & Finch shape, which implies a house with a history before the house has one. It is the oldest structure in perfumery and it still works because nothing about it can date. Second, a texture or feeling word plus a plain fragrance word, the Velvet Veil and Elysian Essence shape, where the first word differentiates and the second one explains. Third, the portmanteau, Scentrise and NebulaScent, which reads as one word and needs no explanation. Worth knowing before you start: perfume appears in just 508 business names founders created on LOGO.com and parfum in 300, while bloom appears in more than 1,000. Founders reach past the product word for atmosphere far more often than they reach for the product word itself.

Do not reach for the obvious word, because almost nobody has taken the good ones

Here is the strange part. Elixir appears in 54 of the 656,184 business names founders created on LOGO.com this past year, and jasmine in 41. Musk manages 74. The two or three most perfume specific words in the English language are effectively unused, while the generic ones are busy. That is not an accident of taste, it is what happens when 83 percent of a category describes itself with one word: nobody is competing over the interesting vocabulary because nobody has got that far. Attar, bakhoor, mukhallat, sillage, ambergris and vetiver are all sitting there. If you sell attar or Arabic perfume specifically, that word list is deeper than anything in the French tradition and far less used on this platform.

Check the domain first, it is the fastest signal that a name is genuinely free, and our perfume name generator shows availability live on every suggestion. Once it clears, register the domain, claim the handles, and let the logo maker handle the bottle, the box and the listing images. If you want a line for the label, the slogan generator is free, and everything ties back into your business name generator brand kit. Stocking a salon as well? The salon names list covers that. Building a fashion label around it? Try the clothing brand names page. Selling handmade online? The Etsy shop names page is built for it. Making a signature scent for a property? The hotel names page will help.

Methodology: data in this article comes from anonymized, aggregated LOGO.com product usage between August 2025 and August 2026, including 388,391 name generator searches and 656,184 logos created. Perfume figures reflect industry selections where founders described a perfume business, and this is the one category in this series where the raw match needed no cleaning, because no unrelated word contains the string perfume. The words founders pair with perfume are ranked by mentions across the 1,336 perfume name searches in the window and are given as an order only, with no percentages, because every one of them is a two digit count. Industry figures count industry selections on LOGO.com, which are events, not unique people. Name counts reflect words appearing in business names founders created over the same period, matched as substrings, so oud, amber, musk, mist and oil were excluded as industry figures because they collide with loud and cloud, chamber, Muskan, taxidermist and cooking oil, and the word aura was excluded because restaurant contains it. An icon popularity figure was measured and deliberately omitted, because the base of 404 selections spread across 289 different icons cannot support a ranking. "I have never attempted developing a logo or other marketing products, and am no expert at navigating new computer software. That being said, I not only found the software easy to navigate and learn, but the end product was more than I had hoped for. The help team at logo.com was highly responsive and willing to help with any questions I had in a clear and rapid manner. I am very pleased with the team at logo.com and the products I created. I highly recommend their service!"

"LOGO.com is an amazing resource. It helped me create a professional-looking logo for my business that received more praise than logos I've paid designers to create for me in the past. The site is very easy to use, walks you through every step, and gives you control over the entire creation process."
