Setting up Your Business Website

In this article, we’re going to go through setting up your business website to showcase your products or services in the best light possible to your potential customers. By the end of this, you’ll have:

  1. A live website your customers can visit
  2. Best practices on how to make the most of your website
  3. Free ways on how to promote your website to get customers

Let’s dive in! To access the website builder:

Click on ‘Edit site’ to personalize your website. This will take you to the website editor where you'll find various sections. Let's address these sections one by one. As a LOGO Pro subscriber, all of these sections will be available to you!

Profile Information – Upload your logo, business name, and slogan in this section. Alternatively, you can use the description to provide insights into what your business is about or what your customers can expect from you.

Social Icons – Connect with your audience by linking your social media profiles. Pro tip: Include only the platforms where you actively engage.

Your Links – This is where you decide where you’d like your users to go next to engage with your business. If you sell products, you can direct your users to your Amazon, Etsy, Gumroad, or any other storefront. If you are a service or restaurant, you can direct your users to third party reservation or booking platforms such as OpenTable, Yelp or Reservio.

Apart from the highlighted sections, you can also add additional sections depending on what information you’d like to share with your website visitors. Here are the options:

Text
– Share who you are, your business story, or any important information your visitors might find valuable.

Image
– Showcase your products or services with images. If you currently don’t have marketing graphics explaining your services, we recommend using our all-in-one design tool – Stitch.

Address & Google Maps
– If you have a physical storefront or office space, this is where you can highlight that.

Form
– Have a conversation with your potential customers through a 'contact us' form or provide a space for users to request a quote or simply say hello. It’s also a great way to collect email addresses to build a mailing list.

Once you’re happy with the site, click on ‘Publish’ in the top-right corner. Once published, your website will be live but you will still be able to make changes. Here you’ll have two options:

  1. Publish the website on a free hi.link domain name.
  2. Connect the website to your custom business domain name.

If you haven't secured a domain name yet, don't worry – this registering your domain article will guide you through the process of registration and connecting it to your website.

If you already have a domain, this article will also cover the steps to connect it to your website. In the meantime, invest today in crafting compelling content and building a website that reflects your business proudly!

Best practices when building your website:

  • All sections in the site builder can be rearranged. Drag and drop to customize the order based on your preference.
  • Add images and tweak the style of your One Page Site to align with your brand, making it visually appealing and consistent.
  • Place compelling Call to Actions (CTAs) to guide users through your website. Encourage them to explore different sections, contact you, or make a purchase. A well-placed CTA enhances user interaction and conversion opportunities.
  • Use high-quality images that showcase your products, services, or business environment in a visually appealing manner.
  • If applicable, incorporate customer testimonials or reviews to build trust and credibility.
  • Keep your One Page Site updated with the latest information about your business, products, or services.

10 Ways to promote your website:

  1. Social media groups: Join relevant groups on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn and share your website within these communities. Ensure that you engage genuinely and share valuable comments that are not perceived as spam or overly promotional.
  2. Content sharing platforms: Use content-sharing platforms such as Medium or LinkedIn Articles to create and share insightful articles related to your industry, with a link back to your website.
  3. Online forums and communities: Participate in forums and online communities such as Quora and Reddit that are related to your business niche. Include your website link in your signature or share it when relevant to the discussion.

  5. Local listings and directories: Add your website to local business directories like Google My Business, Yelp, or Yellow Pages. This enhances your local online presence and can drive traffic to your site. You could also do an Instagram search to find accounts that share local/city information and ask them to promote your business.
  6. Participate in online events: Join webinars, virtual conferences, or online events related to your industry. Not only will you get to network with other people, and stay updated, you can also use the opportunity to share your website in chat discussions or networking sessions.
  7. Create infographics: Design visually appealing infographics related to your business or industry. Share them on platforms like Pinterest with a link back to your website for more information.
  8. QR codes: Generate QR codes linked to your website URL and include them in printed materials such as flyers, posters, or even your physical business location. You can create the printed materials using our design tool – Stitch.
