I’m starting a candle company. Birch Bark Diaries was inspired by a backpacking trip. We were in the woods, our tent was pitched, rain was pouring, & morale was low because it’s hard to start fires with wet wood. Then I found pieces of birch bark. Had a cozy campfire in no time. Gave me confidence & led me to even more rugged, remote backpacking trips.
