Today, our favorite search engine, Google.com, introduced their newest Google Doodle, a playable guitar logo in tribute to the 96th birthday of Les Paul, the world-famous guitar maker. The logo allows you to play the Google logo like a guitar. There’s also a record button for the musically inclined to record their creations and Google gives you a link to post your musical creation.

There’s even a way to play the logo/guitar with your keyboard and the Huffington Post has an article detailing exactly how to play the logo/guitar.

In memory of children’s author/illustrator Roger Hargreaves, Google has produced a suite of logos that are rotating through the site today.  The 16 different logos released on the home page feature many of Hargreaves popular characters like Little Miss Sunshine, Mr. Funny, Mr.Tickle, Little Miss Naughty and more. Today would have been Hargreaves 86th birthday.

The iconic Hargreaves characters incorporated in to the logos today, come from the Mr. Men and Little Miss book series, which have gained world-wide popularity, selling over 85 million copies and spinning off TV shows and merchandise.

With two small children of my own, Hargreaves’ brightly colored simple illustrations are some of our favorites.  The boys especially like Mr. Strong.  I have to admit being disappointed not seeing Mr. Strong in the Google logos today. : )
